What we do

We support a network of African organisations to protect, educate and amplify the voices of children and young people with disabilities.

Together, we work across Africa, breaking down barriers to inclusion
so that children with disabilities are able to thrive.

Background pattern
The right to feel safe.

We stand up for the rights of children and young people with disabilities, so they are protected and included in their communities.

The right to an education.

We ensure that children and young people with disabilities have access to an education and the services they need to succeed.

The right to be heard.

We support children and young people with disabilities to be resilient, amplifying their voices to demand their own inclusion.

We work across six key areas of support:

1.

We build inclusive child protection systems.

2.

We demand inclusive sexual and reproductive health and rights.

3.

We strengthen inclusive early childhood development.

4.

We advance inclusive education.

5.

We promote inclusive mental health and wellbeing.

6.

We raise the voices of children and young people with disabilities.

PROJECT IN TANZANIA

Early intervention through rehabilitation therapies can significantly increase the functional independence of children. It is crucial that children with rehabilitative needs are provided with this support at the earliest possible stage in their development.

Advocating for long-term change
We work with governments and other international actors to improve existing services and increase opportunities for children and young people with disabilities.
Driving the inclusion of children
We ensure the voices of children and young people with disabilities are heard and advocate for them to be included in any decisions that affect them.
Strengthening our network
We support our network and other stakeholders to develop policies and legal frameworks that better meet the rights of children and young people with disabilities.
