Marsha de Cordova MP

Marsha de Cordova became a Patron of Able Child in 2024.

Marsha has served as MP for Battersea in South West London since 2017. Marsha was previously the Shadow Secretary of State for Women and Equalities from 2020 – 2021 and the Shadow Minister for Disabled People between 2017 – 2020. She has a proud history of working in the voluntary sector for over 10 years before becoming an MP.

Marsha was born with nystagmus and is registered blind. She has dedicated much of her life to campaigning for disability rights and is passionate about ensuring equality and a good standard of living for all.

Anne Wafula Strike MBE

Anne has been one of our strongest advocates and loudest voices for many years, and champions disability rights across the world.

Born in Kenya, Anne was a fit and healthy child before polio struck when she was two years old. As a Paralympian, Anne provides a personal example of courage, commitment and determination that challenges misconceptions about disability.

Anne inspires achievement and excellence across a broad range of life situations through motivational talks and appearances that encourages others to overcome difficulties and maximise their potential.

Ellie Robinson MBE

Ellie is our youngest Patron but is one of our closest friends and strongest ambassadors.

Ellie became a Paralympic champion in her debut season on the international stage – and she has since won medals at World, European and Commonwealth level too.

Competing in SB6 and S6 classification events, Ellie holds the World record and the Paralympic record in the S6 50m butterfly and the World record in the 100m, setting both at the age of 13.
